Manual for a Desperate Crossing is an opera by Maria Irene Fornes, which I adapted for (non-operatic) ensemble performance. The play is about Cubans trying to cross to the United States on a tiny raft, and so I staged about 2/3 of the play on a tiny 6x6 platform. This was for the 2010 Alcyone Festival at Halcyon Theater, which featured all works by Fornes.
